Betrayal
Trouble has arose, and Ryoma is forced do something he would never dream of doing.

Chapter Four
Ryoma was returning from harvesting honey, there was a good harvest this year. He entered the hall and dropped everything once he saw the sight in front of him. All of his brothers, gone. On the floor. Ryuunosuke was still alive, but barely. He rushed over to him, holding his hand and pleading for him to not leave.

"W-Who did this? Who did this?" he demanded, his voice barely a whisper.

Ryuunosuke mouthed words but Ryoma could not hear what he was saying.

"Eijirou. . ." Ryuunosuke muttered. "Eijirou. He betrayed us. He betrayed God. He walks the path of sin." He coughed, Ryoma's grip on his hand tightened.

"Shh. . . Don't strain yourself. I'm going to find him and bring justice to him. I know I promised a life of peace, but I cannot sit back and let him go into the world and ruin more lives."

Ryuunosuke smiled. "Always wanting to jump the gun. You may have changed, but not completely.. The fire still burns within you." He sighed. "Go. I'll always be beside you, do not worry." His eyes closed and his grip grew limp.

Ryoma wept. He let out a loud scream and beat the ground. Ryoma kicked plates and bowls, he punched the walls. Anger consumed him, he wanted to avenge his brothers. Avenge Ryuunosuke. He continued to weep until he finally came to.

Ryoma fled the hall, going into Ryuunosuke's chambers and grabbing armor and katana, something that he always said served as a reminder to never grow violent. He knew he was betraying that reminder, shattering everything he had been taught. Yet Ryoma still went on, putting on the armor and running out of the mountain cave and venturing out to find and condemn Eijirou. Make him pay the price.

Eijirou did not die by Ryoma's hands-- no. Ryoma never found him. Years had passed, many, many years. Ryoma assumed Eijirou had died from old age or natural causes. Perhaps the authorities got to him before Ryoma could.
Thinking about it, Ryoma did not know if he would be able to do such a thing. He would not be able to take the life of another Kalon, something he just did not have inside of him.

He regrets not being able to make Eijirou pay, but he does hope that his final moments were the most agonizing moments of his life. That karma got him good.

Ryoma also regrets letting anger consume him. He regrets everything. He returned to his cave he originally left until he grew comfortable to go out into the world again.

That would not happen for a very long time. Not until the 1960's.
